ETA 2512-1
Description
The ETA 2512-1 shown here is a typical representative of mechanical movements produced in the “golden” quartz age, the early eighties. It is a modern constructed ladies’ watch movement with a bare finish.
The construction bases on compareable smaller ETA movements such as the ETA 2410, with the only difference, that the diameter was enlarged.
The three-leg ring balance is of course beared in two Incabloc shock protection systems, the hairspring is attached with a modern-type connector to the moveable hairspring stud, and its effective length can be regulated with yet another modern ETA-type construction directly at the hairspring only.
A characteristic thing of this movement is its indirectly driven minute hand (achieved by the third wheel), which allowes increased space for a larger balance and a larger mainspring barrel. Both are responsible for longer runtime and increased precision. In constrast to many other ETA movements, the dial-side bearing of the third wheel is realized by a synthetic ruby, while the mainspring barrel lacks a ruby (which is not really neccessiary btw.).
